Wednesday, March 15th Housing Element Overview

Our local governments are currently in the process of updating the Housing Element for 2023-2031. The Housing Element is one of the ten State-mandated “elements” or chapters of a local jurisdiction’s General Plan. It identifies policies and programs to meet existing and projected housing needs for all segments of the community. The Scotts Valley City Housing Element addresses how the City plans to meet the community’s housing needs, particularly the availability, affordability, and adequacy of housing. The Housing Element defines strategies and programs for all economic and social groups.

The City of Scotts Valley invites you to join an informational Housing Element Overview Presentation with the City Council to learn about the Housing Element update process and next steps. The presentation will take place on March 15th at 6 p.m. and can be attended online or in-person.

This is an informational item only with no formal action to be taken by the City Council. This presentation is a precursor to a more in-depth joint Planning Commission and City Council study session on candidate sites and policy programs which is scheduled for April 5, 2023.
